The Queensland government will pay an amount towards the cost of selected accounting courses for eligible students. To be eligible for a subsidised training place, students must meet the following criteria:
An Australian citizen
Permanent resident
Temporary resident with necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.
New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland
Over 15 years of age
Have left school
Must not hold a qualification at certificate IV level or higher in any discipline
Permanently reside in Queensland, not hold, and not be enrolled in, a certificate IV or higher-level qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training.

Please refer to the resources required below for further information about additional costs you may incur to undertake this qualification. Note that the cost of textbooks and MYOB training manuals are not included in the course fees for this qualification.
After you have completed this qualification, you will be required to complete a Training and Employment Survey prior to issue of your certification, and you will no longer be eligible for subsidised training under the Investing in Skills program.

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course upfront, you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in fortnightly instalments rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment. Please contact to discuss.

Students can undertake their own research using books, the internet, magazines, workplace documentation etc., but the following textbooks can be purchased to assist you in completing this program:
- Australian Master Bookkeepers Guide - An authority on the GST Act and BAS regulations written by Stephen Marsden, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, CPA Australia and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.

ConcessionStudents will be entitled to pay the concession cost if:
Students hold a Health or Pension Card
Students are the partner or dependents of the person who holds the Health or Pension concession card.
Students are aboriginal or Torres Strait islander
Students with a disability
Trainees must contribute an amount towards the cost of the training.
