BI-820 Microsoft Excel 2007 - Day to Day

General Description:

This Basic Excel course aims to increase your productivity by providing the skills and knowledge to use Microsoft Excel 2007 effectively and efficiently on a Day To Day basis in real-world applications such as budgeting, analysing sales, producing reports, creating charts and graphs, and managing small lists.

Learning Outcomes:

At the completion of this courseware participants will be able to:

· work within the basic Excel environment
· create a new workbook
· open and navigate within workbooks and worksheets
· make changes to data in a workbook
· understand, create and work with formulas and functions used to perform calculations
· understand and use formula cell referencing to create more complex formulas
· understand and work with ranges in a worksheet
· copy and paste data in Excel
· use font formatting techniques to greatly enhance the look of a worksheet
· align the contents of cells in a number of ways
· format rows and columns in a worksheet
· understand and use the number formatting features in Excel
· print your workbook data
· create effective charts in Microsoft Excel

Target Audience:

This course is intended for people who have not used Excel before and for current Excel users who wish to learn how to extend their use of the software.

Prerequisites:

This course is designed for participants with little or no knowledge of the software but assumes the participant has a basic understanding of the Windows environment and file management.

Methodology:

A self-paced hands-on approach is taken during this course. A case study is used to produce real-life scenarios so that learners experience how to use the software to solve everyday problems and undertake routine tasks. A course manual is included in the cost of this course. Course files are provided with this courseware.

Certificate:

The Bookkeeping Institute of Australia will issue a Certificate of Achievement upon completion of this course.
